Daniel J Escott
Daniel J. Escott is a pioneering researcher in the field of regulating the use of artificial intelligence (AI). He currently serves as a Research Fellow at the Access to Justice Centre for Excellence with their Artificial Intelligence Risk and Regulation Lab (AIRRL). With a robust background in AI regulation, legal process engineering, and access to justice, Daniel plays a key role in advancing responsible AI integration within high-risk settings across Canada. He previously served as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Federal Court, where he was instrumental in drafting the Federal Court's Notice on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Court Proceedings and its Interim Principles and Guidelines on Artificial Intelligence. Daniel is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) at Osgoode Hall Law School, studying the impact of technology in legal processes on access to justice. His expertise has established him as a trusted advisor to courts and institutions on AI in law, underscoring his commitment to equitable and accountable technology adoption in justice.
